Citrus Basil Tuna Steaks

Citrus Basil Tuna Steaks

  • 2lbs bluefin tuna
  • Juice & zest of 1 naval orange
  • Juice & zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Canola oil, for grilling


  1. Whisk all ingredients above (besides tuna) together in a shallow bowl to create a marinade. Make sure your bowl is large enough to also hold the tuna
  2. Add tuna to bowl and marinate for 2 hours.
  3. Heat grill over high heat (be sure to use an oil with a high smoke point when grilling)
  4. Add tuna steak to grill and cook approximately 3 minutes per side depending on thickness of tuna steak.
